are heading to san francisco young museums to make in a new exhibit of the 35 dutch painting of a famous girl. on loan the collection represents the dutch golden age and will be here through june 2nd. the san francisco showing opens the american tour. for details we welcome melissa and the assistant of the european art. thank you for being with us. >> thank you. >> is it moritas house. >> morrit house. >> okay. and that's in the hag from the neither lands. >> well, how did this come about? >> well, we found out that the building that houses it would be closing to do some renovations and when you close a building, you can not have the paintings. anybody that has a home renovation means that you should not have the availables inside, so we're the first venue on the tour of these paintings. >> we pounced the former directors. it was a once in a lifetime. >> is it going any places in san francisco. >> it will go to the high museum in atlanta and then new york. >> okay. everybody knows that one. the girl with the pearl. why is it so captivating? she has the look. why are we looking at her? >> i t

francisco. how did you choose san francisco? >> mom chose to stay in guam first. here theory is if she is homeless and wanted to stay in crop cal weather, so, that was really smart. we stayed there before almost two years. everybody knew about san francisco, and the golden mountain. we had friends here, bought our ticket and through here in 1977. >> was it hard to get a start? you were a new family. you had friends here. it helps to have somebody here already for sure. >> the funny story is they say we have a nice apartment for you. we have two apartments. we got here and it was a two studio for ten of us! >> you said in your story that your mother had to go to work early on. while she was working you did the cooking? >> yes. we didn't stay in the tenant long. dad found a flat in china town and she would have two jobs. she worked for a company called ben david's sowing shop. then -- sewing shop. she would work a lot. i would come home and get dinner ready for the six siblings, the six of us. >> when you got dinner ready did mom lay out the instructions and say follow this recipe

in san francisco. what is the first thing you should do and what is the first thing we should do? >> the first thing, understand and accept that we live in an earthquake zone. >> uh. >> wherever you live in the bay area, you are potentially on an earthquake fault or impacted by an event on one of the bay area's earthquake faults. the next thing you can do is simple things like build a kit, build a plan and train. think in terms of the needs -- things you need every day. you need food and water. >> okay. you brought a kit with you. >> yes, i do. >> what is this? >> that is an energy bar. and it's very shelf stable. it will last in your kit for many years. it will provide you with nourishment, food, and we also have water. >> uh. >> in the kit. first aid supplies in the kit and flashlights and batteries. >> okay. what is this? >> this is a personal hygiene kit we have some comfort kits for things like tooth brushes and wash cloths. >> this that is in the kit? >> this is in the kit. >> we have flashlights, batteries. >> water. >> drinking water. very important. how much water? i alw
